I have 2 male gerbils that I will be taking to 4H this year (I know, kinda lame, but I needed another project). I want to make them more sociable, since that is something they are judged on. I can usually pick them up with out difficulty but they don't sit still at all in my hands and I eventually give up and put them back because they are so hyper. Suggestions?
