I have braces and I clean my teeth quite well.
Recently I have noticed that the gum above my eye tooth at the top has been hurting and bleeding when I brush it.
I started to brush more often and for a lot longer in that area to try to get the bleeding and pain to go away because my orthodontist said that if your gums bleed you have to brush in that area more so that the bacteria is removed.
However, the extra brushing has not helped it seems to have made it even worse.
I was just wondering if there is any way that I can tell if the bleeding it due to too much brushing or gum disease?
