My jaw hurts and the left side of my throat is swollen as well. Should I go to an ER room? [QUOTE="Sam, post: 2135036, member: 210645"] Its been like this for about 4-5 days and I went to the dentist and they stated I had some kind of infection within my gum's when tiny food particles get stuck between the gum's and wisdom tooth that is growing. Any who this was on Friday. I was given antibiotics as well as a pain medicine. The pain med's worked for about 1 1/ 2 days and made me nausea. I seriously couldn't function because of the nausea. They only worked for about 1 hr and a streaming pain came in soon after. i would figure the antibiotics would kick in but the swelling has gotten worse. Maybe because i might be biting down when I am sleeping. Perhaps but yet now I seriously can't open my jaw more then about an inch. And my gum's on that side have this weird tingling sensation and my teeth on that side as well. I'm just wondering is there something bigger then just a simple food bacteria infection. My jaw hurts and the left side of my throat is swollen as well. Should I go to an ER room? (I did go on Thursday, they couldn't help, gave me a pill and a prescription as well as a referral) or just wash my mouth with salt water brush and call idk what doctor would be open on a Sunday. Is there a professional opinion I can receive about this please help, I've been dealing with this pain for far too long its not going away.
