My holland lop is molting?

My holland lop is about 10 weeks old, and he's been losing his fur and there are huge chunks that are clumped together, is that normal? I know that bunnies molt around 3 months, so I've been brushing him daily, trying to get the clumps out. I figure the clumps may be due to him just cleaning himself, and since his hair is fine, it clumps and gets tangled and caught up easily. How do I tell that he's really molting besides fur loss? I've taken precautions in case he is by giving up lots of water an hay so that if he ingests his hair it wont get caught up in his intestines. His fur is pretty long too, so it's hard to tell.
