My internet is slow but its because of my other computer on the same network?

Okay, so I have a Dell desktop that works great. It has Norton 360. I also have a Vaio that is very bad! When ever an Ethernet cable is plugged into it and the Netgear router (WPN824) the internet is slow. I've tried cleaning up the HDD but nothing. I know I'm missing something here but I can't put my finger on it.

Any feedback is appreciated, thanks in advance
but would the bandwidth affect wireless as well?

Not like that .Slow internet happens for various reasons. You might have poor hardware connecting your machine to the wall. Maybe your modem-router is not configured correctly.

The most effective method for speeding up a comp where possible is just format the hard disk. Also check to see if you have any useless programs. Uninstall them. Run disk cleanup. Check to see what you have in your temp.
