My iPad downloads apps and other files at 5 mbps but my laptop downloads at 50...

My iPad downloads apps and other files at 5 mbps but my laptop downloads at 50 kbps with the same wifi connection....whys that? my wifi router is very close to my laptop and ipad aswell...
for example: My iPad downloads 500 mb in less than 5 mins and my laptop downloads it in 2 hours -__-

Its because of the size if the file being downloaded in the ipad...they are literally very small
