My iphone wont sync because "other" takes up 2 gigs?!?!?

Hey! so my phone is now full and its because ive got 3.19 gigs of audio, 2.17 gigs of photos, 340.9 mb of apps and 1.39 gigs of "OTHER"??? WHAT IS OTHER?!?! lol and how do i delete it? please! =]
