to pay repair bills.? I have lived in this house for 3 years, my lease is up in June. Last November my son caused the garage door to be horribly smashed becasue a bike got in the way of closign it and the sensor did not register it My rental agency or owner paid to get it fixed. There was some emails exhchanged during this process and it does look like my rental agency told me I would be paying for it, only i misread that email and didnt realize that. In march I get a bill for 1000 for the replaced garage bill. I offer to pay half, the owner refused, wants me to pay it all. We played phone tag for a few weeks. (me and the rental agency) about ten days ago I finally sent them a check for 100 dollars and a note inside it saying I would make payments on the garage door. I also left them a voicemail of the same thing. I got no response untill today, when they called me and said the used my rent that I paid 20 days ago to pay for the owner for the garage door repairs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They just left this in a voicmail with an order to call back by 5 well I work nights didnt get the voicemail by 5 and am going to call them in the am. I AM FRUSTRATED!!!!!!!!!! dont understand how they can do that, when they even have a 1000 security deposit. Im not sure of the laws on this. I have told them (in voicemails) that i would pay the bill, i just would need to make payments..just to avoid court or a chance to not renew my lease.
