I just brought home a new cat, Sean, into my household, and he's about 12 weeks old. He weighs a good 5 pounds and is very healthy, with clear eyes and an appropriately wet nose. He's a scaredy cat, which is normal, after being yanked away from your sisters and forced into a strange, weird smelling house with an unfamiliar older cat. He's still rather affectionate, though and he likes to cuddle. We haven't introduced him to my other cat, Merlin, yet, but they smelled each other and Sean started to growl. He calmed down soon after, though, which is a good indicator that he'll be a good companion when he gets a little older. We've been checking on him every half hour or so, making sure he doesn't get into trouble.

The thing that's really worrying me is that he's been here for a good 9 hours and he hasn't eaten or drunk anything at all. He hasn't used his litter box either, even though I showed him where it was several times. We gave him the types of wet and dry food he ate at the pet store before he adopted us, but sill, no burrito. About an hour after that, I mushed up the wet, thinking that he might take a few licks at it, but still nothing. He doesn't appear to be dehydrated, but I really want him to drink something. What should I do?
