Already she has learned that I wont taker her back in until she tries to poop, being she will squat then look at me and I usually say good girl. I bring her back in then she starts to pee, so I immediately grab her and run outside again. Then she refuses to pee but does the squating deal until she can come back in. My question is, Is this routine I am doing right? Anyone have suggestions? Also, How long do you think it will take til she is fully potty trained? Lastly, She likes to put her feet in her bowl when eating/drinking and it makes a huge mess, any suggestions on how to prevent this?
Okay, so I just got a new puppy. I have had dogs in the past but never this young. I have only had her for the past 3 days. I have slowly been working with her on numerious things. My number 1 so far is potty training. At night she sleeps in her kennel and in the morning I walk her, then feed her, take a shower, then walk again. After which she goes right back into the kennel. When I come home from work, First thing I do is taker her outside, then feed her, then back outside. I live in a town home but do not have a backyard so I am having to work on leash training at the same time. She doesn't seem to want to walk on the leash so when she pulls against me, I wait.. Call her name.. And let her fight the leash until she gives up and continues walking. She likes being inside more than outside at this point. Thanks for the help in advance, Sorry for the long post.
