female puggle 3 yrs old.
she has been itching and randomly whining. her right side of the body has scattered and numerous quarter size spots of lifted hair. what could be the problem?

(she got a new brand of dog food and a new puppy bed last week. however, yesterday we switched back both items to the previous ones. could it maybe have been allergy issues?)

thank you to anyone who has any advice.

it could be that she has fleas, and the best working flea medication is Advantage. It could be that she has irritatied skin and always tries to itch herself by rubbing up against tables, and there are medications for that too, called Cyclosporine, and another called Teramil.
Wait a couple days and she still continues, call your vet and ask about having him see her and possible medication, He may perscribe something, he may not. He is the wiser one...
Good Luck

Your WHAT? What are the breeds involved in this mutt?

It could be any kind of issue, related to some thing in the food.
You need to check her at the Vet. If it is an allergy you need to investigate food content for things like corn, and wheat and other grains (one of the most common allergies)

those both were good ideas but she could be getting bit by ants or spiders. one of my dogs got into an ant bed one time and he started whining and it made little sores on him kinda like what you are explaining... sorry if i was no help

Could be fleas or an allergy, take her to the vet just to be sure its not something more serious.
