was non-reactive. what does it me? my fta-abc test was non-reactive. what does this mean?
it's abs not abc. sorry about that

The RPR is a first line test for syphillis. If it is + as yours was, the FTA-ABS is ordered.
The RPR is fast & inexpensive. But not as accurate.

The FTA-ABS is slower & more expensive (and more accurate).

It means you probably do not have syphilis. However, sometimes a false positive RPR is present in other serious conditions, so stay in close contact with your physician.

As for other close contacts... exercise care and play safe.
