my service engine light is on my 1998 caddy how can i find out the proplem?

i like to see if i have a proplem but the dealer costs to much how can i find the proplem i can buy and replace the parts myself thank you

here i have the link use the store locator to find your store and ask them or if you use it hood up computer to port and then place key to on position do not start wait for computer then write down code then ask them what the p- code is and if you want you can clear code also.What you need is a OBD11 THE DOUBLE ONES MEAN OBD 2 READER.OBD 1 IS USED FOR 96 AND OLDER.So you ask a question and learn and you will get your car fixed also.
