My Son 'phoned and told me he had just driven to the hospital, after visiting time when he went to start the car it was completely dead. As he turned the key back to try again all the instruments went crazy. He turned the key again and it was still dead but again when he turned the key the panel went crazy, anyone got any idea what is wrong?
Went crazy was my Son's description of what happened. When he turned the key there wasn't any response at all. The battery connections are fine and the starter is not jammed. I suggested a bad earth but i'm not convinced.
No click of the solenoid. Thanks to all who have taken the trouble to answer but i can apply the knowledge of working on cars years ago but i'm not familiar with modern cars and their computer systems. Is there a battery in the key to work in conjunction with the on board computer and if so what are the symptoms if that has gone flat?
