In spanish class, my teacher had me read something out loud, and being white, I mispronounced something by accident that was apparently a word I was supposed to know. My teacher began laughing at me, as did the rest of the class. Was it normal that I just wanted to break down crying in the class? What should I do? Am I being too sensitive?

I am sure it was embarrassing, but being able to laugh at yourself is a really healthy trait to have. Don't worry about it, others will mispronounce things too. Tomorrow is a new day. Move on.

The teacher laughing is not normal but the class laughing is. If you feel like crying just try to laugh along with them.

It takes years to be able to speek a language fluently. Your teacher sounds like a jerk so don't take it seriously.

You must have REALLY mispronounced it, you don't have to be sensitive, its just a common mistake, you made people laugh... your... Funny!
