My "X", says her employer has told her anytime she has time off in the future

when our daughter is ill,? That i have to look after her for half of the time.
Whilst this is morally correct and i will do what i can to help as i have always done when she is ill, can an employer make you do this, my X seems to think they can

No, an employer cannot "make" anyone do that...plenty of people are unable to depend on the other parent and so are the only ones available when their child is ill or injured...

It is appropriate and fair that both parents share the burden of taking time off (if needed) when a child is sick, but an employer cannot require it...if excessive time off is needed to deal with a sick child though, it can certainly negatively impact a person's job...

The employer can suggest, but can not demand. It is only fair, that you share the duty.
