Hi everyone!
I need some help at the moment trying to find the etymology of a name (is that even the right word?). Anyway, i am currently writing a story which is almost coming to an end, and throughout it i've been using -D1- as this characters name. It is ESSENTIAL to the plot of her story that her name means "dragonfly" (The name of this book is called 'The Dragonfly & The Azalea'). I did find this image of a very beautiful dragonfly called "Libellula Luctuosa" which is i believe the name of the "Widow skimmer" - very beautiful looking thing. Anyway, i did think about naming the character that - having it shortened down to "Lilu" or "Bella" (Ha!). If i can't find any better suggestions then i'm probably gonna go with that name.
Anyway, my question to you all is this: -
Do you know any names that MEAN dragonfly - Not A dragonfly - but mean it.
I've found tons of names that mean butterfly, but i dont want no crappy butterfly - i want the Dragonfly!
Anyone here got any suggestions? I have scoured my resources and come up with bugger all, so i am turning to the people of the world for help - anyone got anything?

And if you don't know, you think i should go with the Libellula Luctuosa (Lilu for short) Or maybe even a better shortening of the name?

Note: - I've had to repost this questions because on the last one ppl didn't either answer OR they gave names that meant BUTTERFLY. I do not want BUTTERFLY, i want DRAGONFLY. Thank you xxx

Read this little bit if you want to know about the character, if not just skip it: -

She is a dragon. Woop-te-do. Well sort of a dragon. In my story they are what is called "Draconyats" (That's Dray-CON-ney-ats) and they are dragons bound to crystallised human form by a curse a very long time ago by a very angry and annoyed man. She lives in this forest called "The Valley of the Dead" and her kind are immortal. When they are first born they are bound to one of the 7 forest surrounding the world, and only when meeting their other half are they allowed to go free, become mortal and have (ironically) mortal human children. The original Draconyats are born from gaia itself: - they have no parents and are not bound by the physical laws of the Human world. Anyway, this character, she's the last Draconyat left in this forest. After a major catastrophe the gates to Gaia closed and no more of her kind was born. The matron mother, which cared for all the Draconyats, left and has never been seen again. So you can assume that this poor little girl has been left in this forest for about 2000 years, alone with no one to talk to. if that's even worse, the forest which she lives in also happens to devour any humans which come into it with malice in their hearts. She is a very key character and her name must mean Dragonfly. She is kind with wisdom in her eyes, having watched from afar as kingdoms fall and the human race is obliterated before her eyes. She is quiet little thing, hardly ever speaks up and doesn't understand "figures of speech", which means she always misses jokes and doesn't understand sarcasm. She cannot turn into a dragon at the current time, and it seems she wont be able to for the foreseeable future unless she is torn away from the forest (enters Hero1). She has the ability to shapeshift between two forms: - Draconyat and Human.n In the beginning they had no idea what humans really looked like (The forest pretty much asphyxiated and kill all humans who entered) therefore all the humans they ever saw had blue or purple bodies, white eyes and a "dead" look to them - therefore they evolved and shapeshifted to look like that. Over the years their skin became blue, their eyes highened to the darkness surrounding them and their body glowed like the forest they lived in. This female character is no exception.

Anyway, i hope this helps is helping me find a name for her :)
Thanks :D
