HELP!! lol...i'm drawing a blank.
I played a Nintendo RPG in the 90's and have since forgotten what the name was.
my all time favorites are Final Fantasy, and Dragon Warrior (now titled Dragon Quest).
anyway, i'm pretty sure it's none of those...because it would be here in my collection.
the details i can remember are:
when walking around around the world, you'd actually see the opponents (black or blue, imp shaped with pitchforks, etc) before you hit them...giving you the option to hit them or walk away.
THEN, when the battle screen opened, it was unlike the traditional RPG fighting screen of left to right, or right to left...the attack screen in this game is top to bottom! (enemies at top)
i can't remember too much else, but i know it's not in my collection...if someone mentions the name im sure it will ring a bell.....
thx for your help.
...i believe it was a large party anywhere from 4 to 6 members.
not crono, not link,...i swore it was dragon warrior but i own all of those..so now im at a loss.
i do remember now the enemies were black, occasionally blue, and ocasionally red....and the imps carried pitchforks....each enemie (and member of my party)would move 1 step per turn (usually closer to you) but could also move sideways or backwards....hope that helps...
OK...1 last detail i remembered: as stated above when walking around the grass,trees,etc...you can clearly see for instance a black imp with a pitchfork, he moves around for a few seconds...you either hit him or avoid him...BUT then he disappears! and will reappear somewhere else....
for god sakes it's 1:30 am and its killing me i can't remember this game for the life of me.
and naturally i have very little to punch into the search engines for descriptions, images, etc. to help me out - guess it's gonna be a longgg night.
I GOT IT! - i actually still own the game, i had to look in the attic haha...
anyway it's from 1988 and called ULTIMA, Exodus Ultima to be exact.
i lookforward to firing up vintage NES and playing it after all these yrs.
it's a shame the Sony PS line doesn't convert these type of games to disc now a days.
oh well, thank you to all who took a shot at it - GAME ON!!
