Need a FREE converter from .AVI to DIVX or MP4 for my MP3 player?

Hi all, I did my research here before asking this. But the Softwares that they suggested were NOT compatible with my Windows Vista OS. Any suggestions of a FREE Software to download from AVI to DIVX or MPEG 4? Thanks a Million!
