need help separating engine from transmission on a 99 ford F150?

ok this is my first time removing an engine and i got all of the bolts off from engine to transmission and when I tried to re move the engine the seal from the engine to the transmission opened about 1/2 inch but the engine wont come off. is there a special way or trick to separate the engine from the transmission?
 
On the bottom of the engine & transmission were they meet there are some small bolts remove them then remove the torque Converter bolts if you all ready removed them then you problem may be your pinching it together work side to side
