I have a 1999 Subaru Legacy Outback Limited with an power/electric antenna and just a few weeks ago the metal housing for the antenna cracked and thus pulling out the antenna. I was able to put the antenna back into the metal housing and tape the housing up where the crack was but this is only a temporary fix. I was wondering, could you just replace the metal housing or would you need to replace the whole antenna. Also I have some rusting going on at the gas tank where the gas cap goes into (the round bare metal part), which has started at the top right hand side of that metal part. It started to rust a bit about a year ago (it start out ever so slow) and my auto mechanic said it was nothing serious as Subaru has a bit of a stupid design there underneath were it's hard to clean mud and dirt off of, causing unnecessary rusting. Since then it's gotten worse and more recently has started to move downward towards the opening/flap where the gas actually goes into. I see that this piece/part has 3 or so screws that seem to be holding it in place and so I was wondering if this part is easily replaceable and if so what would the part be, so I can replace it as I've been so far unable to locate what the part is.
