I need to submit pictures to a magazine, and they requested that I use pictures from a camera set at high resolution, 300 dpi. I don't have photoshop or anything, only silly Microsoft Office Picture Manager, and it says my pictures are at 180 dpi.
However, can't I convert or resize the photo or something so that it is 300 dpi? Honestly, I don't understand why I have to submit the photo that particular way as I would assume a magazine publisher would have the means to resize a photo for printing purposes at 300 dpi...
Is there a way I can do this on my own? I think I just need to make the picture smaller, but I don't really know where/how to do that.

Oh yeah, the picture is 2816 x 2112 pixels, if that helps!
