My 14 month old laptop died on Monday (the warranty was only 12 months.) We figured out it was the mother board and it will cost at least $300 to replace it, which is not worth it. I decided that I am going to buy a new desktop but I don't really know a whole lot about computers.
I need to buy a new computer ASAP! I'm hoping to order it within the next 24 hours so I could (hopefully) have it by Monday. I only have $600 that I am able to spend on the computer.
I store all of my music and movies on my computer, also a lot of pictures and documents.
When I'm on the computer I run a lot of applications at once. I always have aim open, I have several different internet tabs open, I have itunes running, word, Autocad, and sometimes games.
I play games on my computer (mainly WoW.)
The reason I need the computer ASAP is because I have a project due in less than 2 weeks that I need Autocad for.
I'm wondering if people could please help me out by telling me what I would need in a computer (graphics card, memory, storage space, processor, etc.) Maybe even suggest some computers for me.
Also my laptop that broke was an HP, I want to stay away from HPs. I do not want another one.
Also, I'll be using this computer for the next few years.
