I find post 1389 strangely reassuring. I have written on here previously that I have made umpteen attempts to kill a nuisance dog. I was starting to wonder if the "losers" troll is actually right - after all, how difficult can it be to kill a dog? I suspect that well-meaning though they are, the many posts on here which say "just shove some poisoned meat over the neighbour's fence and all will be OK" are mostly wishful thinking. How many people have actually done this successfully? Not many, I suspect. Dogs generally don't seem to eat food they find lying around. Certainly not nuisance dogs, as their owners most likely spoil them by overfeeding them. So you need to feed the poisoned meat directly to the dog, and in many cases that's impossible to do without incriminating yourself. Any victim of nuisance barking has a moral right to kill the offending dog if there's no support from the authorities. Unfortunately, in real life this is likely to end up in the victim trying harder and harder to deal with the problem with the end result that he or she will get caught. I have pretty much given up and although I still try to kill the dog from time to time, I'm hoping that one day I'll meet a trigger-happy gunman who's in need of some money. If only there were some device that killed dogs remotely - though quite frankly, the owners of nuisance dogs deserve to die more. They are utter scum.
