HP Pavilion 9005us and Windows XP
Hi, I am looking to get my wired internet connection, through my ethernet cable to work, nothing is wrong with the connection, because other laptops can use it without any trouble.
I just purchased a new laptop, an HP Pavilion 9005us with Windows XP. This notebook was operating fine in the US. I've just moved to London and I live in a dorm with wired Internet connection (using an ethernet cable) in my room.
Still, my local area connection does not work!
I talked to HP Support and they walked me through downloading a new NVIDIA nforce motherboard driver that did not solve the problem. Please let me know if you need more information.
I wanted to add that all network connections are enabled and that I can use the same ethernet plug and source in the wall to access internet on anyone else's laptop.
Also, I've gone through the network setup wizard but that hasn't changed anything either.
Is this issue because I need to change settings to get my ethernet to work in another country? Please let me know if anyone can offer any solutions.
