I have and pay for my own broadband internet connection.
My neighbour has an unsecured wireless internet connection, due to this my default configuration windows vista laptop connects to it when i turn on the wireless adaptor.
(as long as my own wireless internet is turned off or currently offline)
Could i legally assume their lack of security on their wireless to be an invitation for others to use it?(i think there was a test case on this not too long ago)
UK and USA legality please, say which one.
I know it's technically illegal to use without permission.
I'm asking if the lack of a password could be taken as permission, considering the ease with which a password is applied.
