New type of (steam) snow trucks in new york city?

The other day I was watching ABC news and they did a report on trucks in Manhattan that instead of just pushing the snow somewhere, they were loading the snow into trucks that would evaporate the snow. Does any know what the name of these trucks are? and is there technology like this but on a smaller scale, like the snow blower is to a handheld snow plow?
