For Christmas, I wanted to make my boyfriend a scarf. I have never knitted/crochet/ect. anything before, at all. What would be the easiest method to go with?

If it matters, I'm left handed and I want to use two colors.

Thanks!

I suggest going to purlbee.com. They list all sorts of tutorials for different knitting techniques. Take a look at 'cast on', 'bind off', and 'weaving in ends'.
Also, because you're left handed, take a look at http://www.wikihow.com/Knit-Left-Handed.

And since you want to work with two colours, your best bet is to do simple stripes. All you have to do, once you figure out how to knit properly, is knit in one colour until it's as big as you want. Then you cut the yarn, leaving about a six-inch tail (leave more or less depending on the width of your scarf). After that, you just start knitting with the other colour. Make sure to leave a tail! When you're all done, you use a tapestry needle to weave in the tails into your scarf! Check out this website too: http://knitting.about.com/od/knittingskills/p/stripes.htm

It may take some time to get it just right, so you might want to practice making the transition from one colour to another first.

One more thing, keep track of how many rows you do in each colour. I didn't when I made my first one, and you can really tell where I made mistakes!
