NewsGroups. Are they still available, and how?

A few years ago, When I was with Earthlink and used Outlook Express, I was able to sign up for newsgroups. I haven't checked them out of ages. Most of this was on my old computer, and linked to Earthlink.net. and I'm no longer with them, and am with RoadRunner now. I'm wondering if I can set up a NewsGroup mail service again.
Thanks for any tips, or update.
 
Look it up on google or yahoo.. If theres nothing then maybe it doesn't exist any longer?
