Nintendo DSi or DS Lite?

My daughter is turning 5 soon and I wanted to get her something to do while we travel. Something for in the car or where we are somewhere like a waiting room or something to keep her occupied. I am trying to decided which to get her the Nintendo DSi or the DS Lite. She is only 5 so i didn't want to get her something to major but then again I dont want to have to keep buying something every year or anything like that. So I need some comparisons and suggestions. :)

Given those two options (I, personally, would not get a video game system for a child that young, but I'm not you), the DS lite would be fine for her. While the DSi is strictly better and has more features, it's most likely nothing she's going to use.
