yes there are quite a few, but really, don't bother looking into them. They have the lowest numbers of people coming back to the dojo of any martial arts, because all the instructors are such head cases. There are some mixed martial arts that are like this, but mma is pretty fixed where as in karate, judo, or tkd, you'll find that there isn't one counter for every move, you have a choice to style your own attack whereas mma there is a certain response to every action. True martial arts like karate, judo, and tkd, are actually a lot better for self defense than people give credit for. MMA is mostly ground tactics, and imagine if a man pulls a knife when your wrestling him on the ground. one stab, two stab, three stab your dead. this is whats dangerous about such close martial arts, whereas long strikes would avoid this. What you will learn from traditional martial arts will transfer into your life much better than anything in mma.
