Nokia 6230i Unlocking?

Basically, i bought a Nokia 6230i and unlocked it. I sent it as a gift to somebody in Ireland, and it comes up as barred? I dont think the phone is blocked, as tested it quickly with an 02 sim card and it was originally on Orange.

I think they might be using an Irish network, if that makes a difference?

there are many ways to unlock a phone. you can unlock it using software or hardware or through codes. if you ask me the codes are the best way to unlock it. unlocking through codes is the best and simple way to unlock any phone. i got my phone unlocked through this method only. you can get the codes either from your service provider or from any other online service providers.. i got the codes from a third party Ihav.net provider. they also provide codes even for older model phones.

You can buy the unlock code from service provider,You cannot get that means you can get the unlock code from online site and unlock it.
