Nokia moved to China?

I was told by a cell phone shop owner that Nokia has moved to China, and that the Nokia phones are not so great anymore, and that I'd rather get a Sony Ericsson. But then again, it might be because he wants to sell his Sony Ericsson phones.

What do you think?

Any suggestions for a good phone?
