Nokia N95, will it work in a different country?

I have purchased Nokia N95 that is made in Finland, the seller told me its not locked, and there isnt any logos on start up indicatin' its locked. I tried 2 different SIM cards, t-mobile and AT&T (USA) but it always says SIM Card not valid, can someone please tell me what could possibly be wrong?

The message " Sim card not valid " indicates that your Nokia N95 is not properly unlocked and it shows that your phone still locked with your carrier . Better, you can get unlock code from any of the online vendors like Prounlocking.com to unlock your Nokia N95 to remove carrier restriction .
