Okay so I have written a few books mainly for friends, family, and scholars. I am trying to publish one of them; But now I am attempting to write a decent seller. I am not looking to be the next J.K Rowling or the next Dean Koontz, I am just wanting to write something for the world's entertainment and make a few dollars. But with modern society being all around the new Xbox's and Nintendos is it even worth it? And if I do what seems to be the best selling for our modern book readers. What would be the best path?
Crime/Mystery (Sherlock Holmes)
Fantasy/ Mythical/Sci-fi (Aragon, Harry Potter, ect.)
Drama (Da Vinci Code)
I am not expecting anything I write to be as good as the listed above but in modern society what would be a bigger hit for new readers?
