So there was this abandoned motel about an hour south of where I live. I used to drive down to it occasionally for some reason that's even unknown to me. In 2008, it was torn down, and I literally cried when I realized it was gone. (I witnessed it being torn down.)
I never stayed at this motel, and I had no connection to it whatsoever other than driving down to it to take photos. Here's are some pictures of it that don't do it justice: http://www.google.com/images?um=1&hl=en&client=firefox-a&rls=org.mozilla%3Aen-US%3Aofficial&biw=926&bih=543&tbs=isch%3A1&sa=1&q=motel+salton+sea+north&aq=f&aqi=&aql=&oq=&gs_rfai=
Anyway, what gives? I was born about 2 years after this place became abandoned, yet I was somehow attracted to it (to the point where I drove an hour just to go see it).
It has been torn down for about 2 years now. Can anyone explain this? I have never experienced anything like it. Why would I get the urge to drive out of my way to go there and just sit by the motel? Creepy much?!
