We were once really good friends. There was this girl in my class who I called an "attention whore", because she is. He went and told her what I said. Now she constantly harasses me about it, all thanks to him. Then he stops talking to me and started telling people that he hates me when I did absolutely nothing. Now he is spreading rumors that I'm autistic. I'm so unbelievably pissed off, I don't even know what to do. Help me out here?

I would totally ignore it. Anyone with any sense can look at you and know your fine, plus if you were autistic there is no shame in it. Forget the loser, be the bigger person and ignore the childish games.

Let people decide for themselves if you are Autistic or not when they social with you. Once they see that you're not, they're going to know this jerk was just causing drama. Then he'll be the one looking bad.

You can speak to the disciplinary office and report it if you'd like. But you have to understand that throughout your life, people are always going to say things about you whether at work, school, neighborhood, whatever. We have no control over the things a person may say or think about us.

Just don't respond. If you do, you're giving in.

And also, don't talk about people, such as calling someone an attention whore. It always comes back to bite you, especially when you gossip to someone who is not trustworthy or reliable to keep it hushed. Just don't talk about people. It's safe, it's respectful, and it makes you a creditable person.

Sadly there isn't a lot you can do with people who spread rumors, the teachers don't do anything, and not many of the kids' parents these days will either. Obviously he isn't a real friend and I say stand up To him, tell him to knock it off, and when he probably doesn't or even if he does, stay away from him.
