just use the 3" to the roof? I am doing a new full bathroom. i have the sink vented to a 3" roof vent, i have a toilet, shower, and bathtub connected to a 3" drain pipe and vented with a 3" pipe to roof. Do i need to vent the shower and bathtub individually and connected them to the 3" vent or is the 3" vent from the main line enough?
 
You do want to vent each fixture individually to assure efficient drainage but they can all be tied together in the attic wherever feasible and exit as one stack through the roof.
 
You will have to check with the code enforcement officer in your area as to what will pass inspection .You will want to do this because if you ever sell the house it will probably be inspected by the purchaser and going back to redo this would be a real nightmare.
