On my commercial truck, What causes flat spots to form on the tires?

The truck drives quite smoothly when the tires are new, but over the course of the year, flat spots form around the edges of several tires, making the truck shake and rather difficult to control around turns.

Flat spot form on both the drives and steers, but it's the flat spots on the steer tires that give me the handling and control issues.

Take to a shop and have the Alignment checked. Also after ever so many miles you should have your tires rotated and balanced. You owners manual should tell you exactly how often.
