My parents had 2 pet birds, Olly and Monet. Monet had been acting funny all day long, squawking and screaming, not wanting to eat or be held etc..., Olly has had a feather coming out of her that had been bothering her for a few days. Tonight she jumped off of her cage and hit the floor. I picked her up to try and comfort her and she couldn't stand up- her wings were spread like she was trying to fly but she was just laying in my hands, after about 45 seconds to 1 minute her eyes shut and she was "pronounced dead at the scene"

The other bird, Monet, was freaking out and screaming like he had been all day long-- We layed Olly on the table ontop of some towels and let Monet see that she was dead. We all gathered around the table and Monet kept screaming-- and flying around the table trying to get us away- we backed off and Monet tried to preen her and was "kissing" her. He calmed down and got back on his cage and has been ok...

Is there a possibility that he knew what was coming?

Sometimes animals know more than we do. A dog who can tell a tornado is coming, birds who fly away when there is a hurricane before any humans even realize what is happening don't cut mother nature short there are plenty of things we still don't understand about nature. Think about dogs who howl because their master is dead.
