open bit torrent files?

i downloaded some bit files from limewire, and now i have them saved to my desktop. how do i go about opening them? do they need to be converted into something else? what do i need to do the job?
 
You need a bittorrent program. Try Azureus.

This program lets you download the files... You have NOT downloaded the actual files yet, you have downloaded a file that tells Azureus what to download. Azureus will download (leech) your files from other people (seeds) who are making the files available.
 
no, they don't need to be converted. All you have to do is open limewire, click file, and then 'open torrent', then you just find the bittorrent, select it, and press ok and it willl start downloading.
 
you need to download a program called vuze

than go to the torrent file, go to open with vuze

let it download and once its finished open it with the approperate program

u can also use utorrent but i personally find vuze easier
