I am renting a home in CA and our old Landlord did not want a deposit (Family). It states in our contract that we have 60 days from the close of Escrow that the new landlord has to go by the old contract. Because we did not have a deposit with our old landlord dose this mean we have 60 to pay a new deposit? The new landlord is asking for a very hevy deposit on the day escow closes.

Do you have a lease? If not, you have a month-to-month agreement. The new landlord has to give you at least 30 days notice before changing the terms (or collecting a deposit).

Nope, not if you have a lease
60 days to do what?
Read the contract, carefully

If you are in the middle of a lease then all parties, including the new owners, must follow it. If you are not under a lease, and are therefore month to month, then you must be given proper notice before any change can occur. In California that is 30 days if you've lived there under and year or 60 days if you've lived there over a year.
