Own a gun to hunt in ontario?

I am 15 and i have been hunting with my friend for a while ( with a pellet gun). The pellet gun does not really work, and i know i can get and ontario huting liscence at 15. Our family does not own any guns, and i was wondering if ny dad would have to buy the gun and get a liscence or can i thank you.
