I have been officially dating my boyfriend for about a week, but we've been "together" for a little over a month. We are always together, we eat dinner at each others houses many nights of the week and are very close. My problem: He doesn't like PDA (public displays of affection). I know everybody has their own comfort zone and that I shouldn't push him to be affectionate in public if he's uncomfortable with that. I never try to initiate anything in public (like holding his hand or kissing him), but I really wish he would take my hand occasionally or give a little peck or something. The most he will do is put his arm around me when we're walking outside and it's cold. We don't have any of the same classes together at school, because he's a year older, but I do see him in the halls frequently, so there is opportunity there for a quick hug or kiss. I'm not sure why I feel so strongly about this, but I want him to enjoy being just a little affectionate in public; I want him to enjoy being publicly dating. Everybody knows we're dating (plus it's facebook official, haha) so it's not as if he's embarrassed by ME. Essentially, I just would like to know how I can make him feel more comfortable showing affection in public. I always want to grab his hand but I don't want to be too forward (this seems ironic considering behind closed doors we take things very far, and I like to initiate things too).
