Paul Jones of the Penn State college football team is in the headlines today. Why? He’s the latest Penn State player to announce that he’s leaving the team. Following the drama surrounding Jerry Sandusky and Joe Paterno, more than a dozen players have left the team.
A quarterback out of high school, Paul Jones had transitioned into being a tight end. When he transfers, he may look for a school that will allow him to go back to QB.
In an interview, Jones said he has previously thought about transferring to Pittsburgh — so that may be one possible destination. No matter where he goes, Jones will have to sit out the rest of the season. However, he’ll be free to resume his college football career next year.
