Planning to watch Dream High 2?!?

I wanna watch the korean drama, Dream High 2, but i haven't watched Dream High 1 yet. So do you guys think its okay to just start watching Dream High 2 before I watch the original? Or it is better to get to know the characters and stuff and not spoil the story by going in order...
Because Dream High 1 seems like such an old drama so I didn't know if its gonna be good...
