please i have always wanted to know what "sense of humor" means?

So can you guys please tell me what it means when someone tells you that you have a sense of humor
 
That means stop being so serious all the time and laugh a little. Also you know what's funny and what's not.
 
If you have a "good sense of humor" they think you are funny and you know what is funny, someone else may say you have a "bad sense of humor" that means they don't think what you say is funny.
 
The others gave great answers. I wanted to add what a sense of humor isn't. It isn't "being able to take a joke" if you are the butt of the joke. Many people poke fun, and make jokes at others expense and then say they have no sense of humor.
 
You are able to find humor in many situations that other people would miss.

Compare this to sense of smell. A person with a good sense of smell can tell if a substance has or hasn't an odor.
