Q: WHAT SIGNIFICANCE DOES THE SHOOTING OF CANDY'S DOG HAVE ON THE BOOK 'OF MICE AND MEN' AS WHOLE?

Any feedback would be much appreciated :)

This essay is about the shooting of Candy's dog in John Steinbeck's well known novella 'of mice and men'. This incident is very important as Candy, on old worker with one hand, is pressurized into giving up his ancient sheepdog to be shot. The reason why this is important is because Candy sees himself in the dog and makes him believe that old, useless throwaways (like himself) are about to be disposed of. Steinbeck uses silence, symbolism, tension, structure and style skillfully and effectively in this scene. In this essay I will analyse these 5 areas and consider the overall significance of the event of the novella as a whole.

This section should be cut out to be used for the explanation of a later quote.

When you write "5" please write "five" instead of the number.

Apart from that, a very good and informative intro.

EDIT: Also, don't write "useless throwaways" it sounds informal.
