What is a woman’s primary responsibility? The majority would identify a woman’s main responsibility associated with family or housework. This process is called gendering. People are socialized to think in a particular way. This research paper is intended to emphasize on the stratification of females in the labour market. The subject of this paper focuses on the average American, Australian, British and Canadian working married female Caucasians during the twentieth century. Inequality refers to the lack of resources and opportunities available, and work refers to the type of paid employment. Socialization perpetuates the inequality females strain in the economy through the stigmas of society and low statuses of the group, thus, restrict their social mobility.
