I have an 8 week old husky puppy. I am having quite a few problems with training him. I got him 3 days ago and it is not going well. I take him out first thing in the morning when I get up at 5:30 am, he will HOWL until I let him in, even after an hour, even if I go outside WITH him. He will NOT go outside. He will howl and howl because he holds it until we get in the house. We get in the house and AS I catch him going, I put him outside, and again, he will HOWL until he is in the house. I try coaching him to walk with me, I walk into the backyard (and I have a very well trained dachshund who he ignores) and still nothing. It is as if he is scared to be outside. Well, he is scared of everthing and he is about 20lbs at 8 weeks old! BIG BOY. I put him in the crate and I even covered it and put it in the back room, nothing stops the HOWLING! I am afraid the neighbors are going to freak out. He howls and howls. So crate training is very hard. He will not go outside and he will not stand for the crate (although I have been forcing him to). I know he is a smart dog, but I feel like I am doing something wrong. Even if I take him outside with my kids to play in our big backyard, he sits at the door and howls. Any suggestions?
